Presence Events

Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. The facts below are accurate to how the site is built today, but the wording has not been checked by counsel. Do not treat it as final.

The short version: this website collects almost nothing. There is one form — the contact form, which sends us what you choose to write — and no analytics, no tracking pixels and no marketing cookies. If you simply read these pages, you leave behind little more than the request itself.

Who is responsible

Presence Events is the data controller for this website — legally, [registered company name, organisation number, registered address].

The site is built, hosted and maintained for us by Glade, on its Glade Studio platform. Glade acts as our data processor: it handles data on our instructions and for no purpose of its own.

What the site collects

CookiesOne, and only while the site is behind a preview password: a session cookie proving you entered it. It is strictly necessary, so it needs no consent — which is why you have not been shown a cookie banner. We set no analytics or advertising cookies.
Server logsOur host records the usual technical detail of a request — IP address, time, page, browser. We use it to keep the site up and to stop abuse, and we do not use it to build a picture of you.
AnalyticsNone. There is no analytics provider on this site.
If you send an enquiryThe enquiry form asks for your name, your e-mail address and your message, and sends them to us through this website. They are stored on our behalf in the European Union so that we can answer you, and a copy is e-mailed to our team so that we see it promptly. We keep an enquiry for as long as the conversation is live, and remove it once it is handled. Ask us at any time and we will delete it sooner.
If you email usEmail links open your own email programme — that route sends nothing through this website. If you write to us, we hold what you send for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation.

Why, and on what basis

We process the little we hold on the basis of our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in running a secure website and answering people who contact us. Where you write to us, we process what you send in order to reply.

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we make no automated decisions about you.

Who else touches it

Only the suppliers needed to run the site. They act on our instructions under written agreements:

  • Glade — builds and maintains the site (Glade Studio platform).
  • Vercel — hosting and delivery. A US company; transfers are covered by the standard safeguards required under GDPR.
  • Upstash— the site’s data store, located in the European Union (Frankfurt and Dublin).
  • Resend — delivers the e-mail that tells us an enquiry has arrived. A US company; the same standard safeguards apply.

Our data is kept in the EU by choice, not by chance.

How long we keep it

Technical logs are kept for a short period by our host and then discarded. Correspondence is kept while the conversation is live and for as long as we have a reason to keep a record of it. Nothing is kept indefinitely without a reason.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Norwegian Personal Data Act you may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you; ask us to correct it or delete it; ask us to restrict how we use it; object to our use of it; and ask for it in a portable form. Write to us and we will answer.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you are entitled to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no). We would rather you told us first, so we can put it right.

Changes

If we change what the site collects, we change this page in the same breath, and the date at the top moves. A privacy notice that lags behind the software is not a notice; it is a false statement.
